Radiesse®™

What is Radiesse®™/Radiance? Radiance, also known as Radiesse®™, is a calcium hydroxyapatite based long term filler. This synthetic form of material found in bone and teeth, is created in tiny spheres for injection into soft tissue of the skin. The spheres gradually dissolve away into bone or fat and are then filled in by collagen cells, subsequently enhancing the correction.

How does Radiesse®™/Radiance work and what are the advantages? It immediately lifts and adds volume to the areas being treated, as well as stimulates your skin to produce collagen. Radiesse®™ has an extensive record of safe clinical use. No skin test is required and there is no downtime. It is an alternative to the hyaluronic acid-based injectables.

Are Radiesse®™ results instantaneous? Results are visible immediately following treatment. As with any injectable filler, you can expect to experience some swelling after the procedure, so your lips should be larger than the desired end result. Swelling typically resolves in 2 to 3 days.

Do I need more than one Radiesse®™ treatment? Touch up treatments may be desired to prolong and further enhance the look, however, one treatment can deliver the desired results.

How long can I expect Radiesse®™ results to last? Treatment results differ for each person, however, you can expect results to last from 12 months or more.

What are some of the possible Radiesse®™ side effects? There are no reported allergic reactions. The most common side effects with any injection include possible bleeding, and tenderness, redness, or swelling. These side effects last, on average, 2 to 5 days.
